As I woke up this morning, all I could say as a prayer was “Lord, keep me weak”. Lately, I have been feeling under attack and highly inadequate. Being in His presence throughout this week with only that word of prayer in my heart, I have come to appreciate my weakness for in them His power comes to full play. I have realized that trying to make myself strong will only lead to fatigue but that’s ok. Jesus’ unending power rests in me.
Whenever I agree with God concerning my frailty in any given area, His grace is available to meet the need. Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.
Daily I confess that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I realize that it isn’t only the devil that makes me feel weak- sometimes, God too. He makes me feel weak to keep me from adopting attitudes that would render me useless in the work of spreading His Kingdom.
And now, every morning, I thank God for the stuff in my life that keeps me weak and dependent on Him. He created me perfect –weakness and all. Through my weakness, My Heavenly Father works mouth-watering miracles.
Abba Father reminds me not to forget:
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem (sometimes I stutter when I am angry)
Samson was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
David had an affair and was a murderer (some men will find comfort in this abi?)
Isaiah preached naked (imagine that)
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt (you should see my account balance at the moment)
John the Baptist ate bugs (imagine eating a cockroach)
The Disciples fell asleep while praying (Guiltyyyyy)
Martha worried about everything (don’t we all?)
The Samaritan woman was a multiple divorcee
Zaccheus was too short (I used to be too thin)
Paul was almost a fanatic
Lazarus, ah, Lazarus was dead.

  2. The lord’s strenght is made available wen we are on d move,nd not wen we laze around. There is a woe for those dat are at ease in Zion.Awake from slumber nd sleep not! This is injury timeooo!

  3. My Lord, though imperfectly perfect as a nation,I love my beloved nation Nigeria. You knew dat this was d best nation for me,nd out of ur benevolent heart made me a Nigerian to best fulfil destiny…,nd ur choice is d best.We deceive ourselves with dual citizenship b/c we know my roots….truely Nigerian.I love my people….wonderful people.I am content having them as brothers nd sisters. In our weakness,we have not fared well since independence. How we aroused ur anger through FESTAC ’77.Ever since,we have known no peace, with terror on every side.Lord,we are truely sorry for d sin of idolatry dat incurred ur wrath.Forgive us nd blot out our sin with d Blood of Jesus to remember them no more.In our weakness, let ur strenght be made perfect to take us to great heights,nd through us renew d faces of other nations. In our weakness, deliver us from the heels of oppressive leaders. In our weakness, help us not to despise d pleasant land u gave us,nd check out to other nations. In our weakness, heal us nd restore us to be ur SHOWPIECE before d nations of d world. In our weakness,be our God nd we shall be ur people.Thank You Lord for making me a Nigerian.I AM PROUDLY A NIGERIAN,WITH THE CITIZENSHIP OF HEAVEN!Thats d only dual citizenship dat counts!HALLELUYAH!!!

  4. @Efuru…You forgot to pray for Super Eagles…..Our Lord, the race is not to d swift nd d battle is not to d strong.Holland this night proved this to be true wen they thrashed Spain 5 goals to 1.On this basis,we pray for Super Eagles of Nigeria.Dear Lord,in our weakness, bear us on eagle’s wing to victory as the Game Changer in jesus’name we pray.Thank You for ur strenght dat is made perfect in our weakness as a team nd as a nation. Is it not written dat u use d weak to shame d strong?Let scripture be fulfilled on our behalf in Jesus name.Receive all d glory!

  5. @Biodun…Indeed,there will surprises during this world cup….’the mighty shall fall’nd’nations will be disgraced’like Spain. The Lord will use d ‘underdogs’ to shame the strong.Watch Out!!!

  7. Indeed,we need prayers in this moment of our weakness. We have suffered reproach nd shame before nations.I can remember in the 70’s wen we were respected in England as a nation. Then they saw us wealthy nd intelligent.Suddenly our reputatn declined wen we smeared ourselves with ‘wayo’…deceit,419,corruptn,money laundering, stealing, drug trafficking, human trafficking, kidnapping of expatriate workers, oil theft, forgery of signatures/documents/certificates,shop-lifting,credit card scam, prostitution.Just name d crime,we are there.Nigeria became a nation of d good,d bad nd d ugly.Yes,we acknowledge dat we are imperfectly perfect people, from d President to our unborn children, having been conceived in sin.Lord, help us,redeem us,heal us,restore us nd rebrand us in jesus’name,Amen.

  8. Nobody remembered to pray for our Chibok girls.Suddenly,d protests have died down,d fever to bring them back is gone,d nations dat came to help us seem not to have a clue of their whereabouts,nd our girls seem to be forgotten.O Helper of d weak nd helpless, come to our help, for indeed VAIN is d help of man.

  9. I’ve always found solace and inspiration from your post. I have been following your blog for a while now and it seems I actually know you. I would love to meet you one day. Keep the flag flying.

  10. In my weakness your strenght abound…Use me for your glory…take my weaknesses for in them i see how strong your love has made me…
