I SURVIVED! #THANKFUL#

GH2
Today, I just need to encourage one person out there. God is real and He is truly a covenant keeping and faithful God. I know this for a fact. Last week, I had to go through a procedure that really shook the core of my pre-existing beliefs about life.
However, no matter how bad things got, I had to hold to the scripture that says “God will never leave me nor forsake me” and the truth is; God didn’t leave me. Through the uncountable trips to the hospital and all the drugs…God STILL didn’t leave me.
Some of us are going through such difficult situations right now or maybe not us but someone close to us is…well I have good news, God will not leave you. Sickness is a terrible thing to go through and it really does suck the life and faith out of a lot of people. You see, one thing I never did during my trial is, question God. In fact, at really odd times I found myself giving thanks. So I urge you, though very difficult to do, but not impossible – Give Thanks!

One thing I found out in the last one year is that my case is better than someone else’s. So in every situation, we just have to give thanks and rejoice, because I once read that ‘There is victory in rejoicing’. I would always play the praise songs on my phone and sometimes I would even boogie down and twist my waist for God. It naturally became a ritual for me. Today I testify and declare in Jesus name, that I have closed that chapter and I have come out victorious.
Having faith in Almighty God is exciting but let’s not forget that we are also responsible for ourselves, and let’s not wait for things to go bad before we do something. Early detection really saves lives. Having faith in God does not give us the right to be careless with our health. I have seen too many situations where women didn’t report their symptoms because they were afraid, and then they become part of the statistics.
GH
I’ve learned that whatever the circumstances in our life we can have the assurance that nothing misses the eyes of God. Psalm 138:6 reminds us that, “Though the LORD is exalted, He looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, He sees them from afar.” All night and all day God sees us and when we allow him, He directs our actions and vindicates us in our distress. We can thank God that He is the only power in the universe who can see all of us, everywhere, all the time, without interruption and He wants to lead us in doing the right thing, all the time.
My faith in God is strong and only by His grace have I made it this far and will continue to do so. As the writer of the song Amazing Grace states, “ ‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.” Even so, come Lord Jesus.

  3. Praise God, Dumdum! It is important to confess out loud and continue to confess God’s healing words, “for they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh”

  4. I like where you said we should not be careless about our health. I have seen so many people suffer so much because they think it is faithless to visit a doctor. Very sad d way things turned out for some of them. I rejoice with you, Dumebi.

  5. Bless God, Ezar. We r truly thankful! God is sovereign. He can heal and often does through prayer, sometimes in conjunction with medical help.

  6. Good point, Chuks. Here is what I tell friends, whatever you do, don’t ignore serious medical issues just because some preachers say that people who go to doctors don’t have enough faith. If a preacher complains in such a manner, shouldn’t he be consistent and also complain that you don’t have enough faith to have your car miraculously run when the engine blows up? Or what about your TV, your stereo, or computer? Can God not heal these things as well by His sovereign hand? Of course He can. But the simple fact is that very often God chooses to use people to make things better. So, if you are sick, pray and ask the Lord to heal you. Expect healing and don’t doubt but understand that the healing you may get could be through miraculous intervention by God or the natural healing of your own body and/or the work of a doctor who might use surgery and/or medicine. Either way, God is the one who miraculously works and who also has gifted people to be able to perform their healing work.

  7. Thank God for Good health. Thank you all for the comments about doctors, I am a doctor and I have no doubt that God does intervene on occasion to heal people without the aid of medicine — but nowhere does the Bible urge us to reject medical treatment. God has given us the ability to develop modern medical treatments, and we should see them as a gift from His hand. This doesn’t mean, however, that we shouldn’t pray when someone is sick and ask God to heal them. Ultimately, our lives are in God’s hands, and even when He uses medicine to bring about a person’s healing, He still should get the credit. The Bible is clear: “From the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death” (Psalm 68:20).

  8. I am encouraged by this message today. Thanks, Ezar. I have been battling with something lately, my family thinks I don’t have faith because I want to visit a doctor. I made up my mind last night to go no matter what, and this post just ministered to me. God can choose to heal someone miraculously or medically; just because there are no flashing lights or instantaneous healing doesn’t mean that something is not a miracle! Of course, it is a great idea to pray about it before you go to the doctor, but going to the doctor is not a lack of faith! God bless!
