Walking in Purpose

I truly believe that Christian women can be whole, happy, content and busy – all at the same time. There are times when we all feel overwhelmed by the burdens of everyday life, but our circumstances should never steal away the joy of our walk with God. We can live a victorious Christian life no matter what comes our way.

That said, it’s also important to know that we’re not here by accident; God created us on purpose. God had our entire life on Earth in mind before we were ever born, and He designed us specifically for the good work He intends us to do.

Every day we’re alive is a gift from God that’s full of opportunities to pursue that work. So let’s not let another day go by without discovering and enjoying our God-given purpose.

Dare to believe that God is working in you today to get you where you need to go tomorrow. Ask God to help you overcome common obstacles to taking your calling seriously: fear, doubt, insecurity, and inferiority. Pray for God to awaken a fresh sense of purpose within you, as well as a sense of passion to pursue the work God wants you to do.

Also, Learn to love your story! Rather than comparing yourself to other people and being jealous of the work they’re doing for God, embrace your own unique story of faith and work in God’s kingdom. Make a habit of frequently thanking God for the blessings He is constantly giving you, and praise Him often for His great love. The more you express your gratitude to God, the more you’ll notice and appreciate the story of how God is at work uniquely in your life.

And that’s why I enjoyed 10 Steps To Walking In Purpose by my virtual friend turned sister, Frances Okoro. It’s amazing. I read that book with my mouth open. What she has gone through…you won’t believe it. But she refused to stay in the depressive corner the devil forced her to, and she shares her testimony to the glory of God. Amazing!3d 10steps cover

  1. Ezar,i agree with you dat every woman has a past,nd dat every woman has a purpose. But there are exceptions,…in an abusive relationship,nd with male chauvinist as a husband,a woman fulfilling purpose/destiny,becomes a mirage. Many women have died with their God-given purpose b/c they had terrorists as husbands.

  2. @Mary,give me ten. Some husbands are not supportive at all. Some have also reduced their wives to mere househelps, not even housewives. These are graduates with great potentials to impact generations.Odiegwuoooo!

  3. Until d male folks accept dat women are more than d rib, women will not be given d political, financial, economic professional nd academic space to succeed in a male-dominated society. Our men need exposure nd mind-orientation to accept dat we may have a divine purpose to fulfil in our generation, apart from raising children nd keeping d homefront.

Women,we are our own enemies. When given d opportunity, will u support ur fellow woman to walk in purpose, without petty jealousy, envy nd rivalry?Rem dat Sarah Jibril had only her vote as a presidential candidate.Where were all women advocacy/activism groups..d Beinjing women?I am done with women talk-talk.We should talk nd do.

  5. Most times,d women dat break-through to fulfil purpose, passed through d hell of intimidatn, oppositn, persecutn, rivalry, dominatn, rivalry, antagonism nd envy of purpose-killers.Walking in purpose is for those dat are willing to take risks, with d great determination to succeed against all odds.Bravo to purpose-driven women.

  6. @Mary/Chidinma,i am married to a male chauvinist who kept me in d house to be a stay-home mom.Unknown to him,God was working out His purpose in my life. While at home,He gave me d passion for souls,nd d ministry of intercession.I found my purpose,nd i am walking in it.I pray dat i will not be disobedient to this Heavenly vision dat has eternal value.Occupy wherever u find urself until He comes at His own timing. What u think is an obstacle, might be a stepping stone for greatness.Halleluyah!

  7. Whatever our purpose may be in life, women should always rem.d order of priority as a Christian,..God comes first, followed closely by ur spouse, then children, before ministry/purpose.Some women even put ministry/purpose before God nd family…a great error!

  8. Mrs Oretha Hagin was one woman dat inspired me.Her own purpose in life was to support d husband just by sitting by him as he preached,nd raising their children. These she faithfully did until he was called home. She did not automatically become a preacher,as some Nigeria overseers wives do.There is a huge difference b/w walking in Gods purpose,nd walking in our own purpose.I choose to walk in Gods purpose ,nd not in my purpose. The former has eternal value,nd will receive reward frm d Lord.

  9. To walk in purpose,u MUST NOT despise d days of small beginning/small things.A journey of a 1000 miles begins with d 1st step.

  10. just like Ezar said in one of her past post,ur purpose may be to be d best janitor in ur place of work.We are not all called to preach d gospel. We are different members of d same body, with divers purposes. If u are d little finger, then be d best little finger for d Lord.

  11. @Tosin,u are right. We are good copiers, copy cats. You must NEVER COPY your neighbours purpose or miss ur purpose.Seek nd receive Gods purpose for you from Him,nd He will empower you to walk in it nd fulfill it.

  12. Ezar,i hate all these numerical steps…5 steps,7 steps,10 steps, etc.I dont buy them.Knowledge is inexhaustible…cannot be confined to mere numbers.I would hv prefered dat book titled..WALKING IN PURPOSE.
