Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof…

After two years of work, our book is FINALLY ready for release!

Stemming from a desire to increase literacy skills and improve reading advocacy, Dunbarin and I decided to do a compilation of popular folktales with accompanying puzzles and strategically place them in the hands of the children who need them most. Promoting the joy of reading for pleasure from a young age was/is our mission. Today, I am glad that this project that started out as a dream at The Vale College’s library is now a REALITY.

Words will never be able to express how proud I am of my mentee, Dunbarin. It has been a pleasure to work with her on this book project: STORIES MY MOTHER TOLD ME ( A Compilation of African Folktales). She didn’t jump in with two feet but dove head first…and it has paid off. Dunbarin, you have blossomed into a leader who can do anything she puts her mind to. You have even helped me be a better leader and a better person. I am so proud of you and can’t wait to have you work with me on another project.

We will be giving out these books (FREE OF CHARGE) to primary school students in Ibadan in the month of March. We want to reach at least 10 schools.
